A Vision for the Future...

Becoming a Conduit for Compassion:Priorities for 2010-2011

A message from Gary Phillips, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Hope and Encouragement for Humanity

First, we want to thank our many friends and partners for all they've done for Hope & Encouragement for Humanity (HEH)!  All the great things HEH has accomplished since its founding would not have been possible without their prayers and generous gifts of time, talent and money.  We are in you debt!

God is helping us chart a new course for HEH!  In this time of economic struggle, natural disaster and human misery the ministry of HEH is needed now more than ever.  HEH does what others can’t and goes where others won’t!  Our leadership is committed to a course that will expand our ministry, help HEH become more effective and efficient, form stategic partnerships and make sure HEH thrives in the future.

We believe God is calling HEH to become a "conduit for compassion".  By receiving, warehousing and transporting donated goods HEH empowers its partners and others to meet the desperate needs so many face and to fulfill their God given vision.  We are their connection between those who give and those who need.

To accomplish this vision we have established several clear priorities that will guide our efforts. HEH needs to…

  1. Increase the number of "Prayer Partners".
  2. Increase the number of “Sustaining Partners” committed to monthly giving.
  3. Increase the number of “Project Partners” committed to giving to a specific need, disaster or project.
  4. Create a “capital fund” campaign to reduce HEH’s debt, expand its facilities, acquire essential equipment and develop the “HEH Foundation” that will insure long term financial stability.
  5. Increase the number and involvement of volunteers.
  6. Improve HEH’s communication through our web site, email updates, project reports, etc.
  7. Expand our "connections" with potential partners and supporters.
  8. Created a task force for each priority committed to meet its goals by September 2010.

It’s an ambitious agenda.  Some would say, in these times, an impossible agenda.  But we believe that where God leads God makes a way.

We want to continue our partnership with our many friends, partner with new friends and believe many will become part of this ministry’s great future. Many have stood with us in the past and we pray they will stand with us now and in the days to come.

But why should you?  There are many other worthy causes asking for your time, talents and financial support.

First, HEH has a proven track record.  In our “Ministry Snapshot” we’ve listed some of HEH’s accomplishments.  It’s an impressive list for any ministry of this type, let alone a “start up”.  Second, HEH is an all volunteer organization.  Every dime and every minute our partners give go directly to meeting needs.
Third, we all need to be involved in something bigger than ourselves.  HEH offers our partners the chance of being involved in a great world wide effort.
Finally, we need you! God has set a great challenge in front of us. We really can't do it with you YOU!
