History

Gary Phillips of Blissfield, Michigan, established Hope & Encouragement for Humanity, Inc. or H.E.H. in 2003.Working with local and foreign missions over the previous ten years, showed Gary that the biggest problem facing people everywhere were the basics of life: food, clothing and shelter. The difficulties in helping to meet those needs came from a lack of products to distribute, a shortage of transportation to receive and distribute those products, and the availability of a facility to store those products for distribution. As the owner of a small trucking company for the past 25 years, Gary felt he could do more to help by utilizing his knowledge and resources in a greater way. So H.E.H. was born.

In July of 2003, Alaina and Kelly Haiti, Gary's daughter and son-in-law's first child was born. Hope Elizabeth Haiti was born into the arms of Jesus on July 14 and H.E.H. is not only in honor of the lives she touched in life, but the lives she continues to touch even now. (see tinypurose.com for more of Hope's story)

As H.E.H. has been developing over the years, we have established relationships with other groups around the United States and the world. We are working to help provide them with the supplies they need to tough the lives of the people they reach every day.

We are working to establish a network of food banks and missions, church groups and non-profit organizations. To tough people's lives all over the world.

Through this network, we are reaching people in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois,West Virginia, and Texas with food, clothing and other necessities, while the local groups meet their spiritual needs. Missionaries in Haiti, Mexico, El Salvador, Venezuela, and Panama have all received shipments of food and clothing to help the people in these areas to find a better life.

Disaster relief is also an arm of H.E.H. We have been able to provide over 100 loads of relief products to hurricane victims across the country over the last 3 years. H.E.H. was also involved with tsunami relief in Sri Lanka in January of 2005.
